Published: February 24, 2020

LOVELAND, Colo. — McWhinney, master developer of Centerra, and Landmark Homes are pleased to announce the purchase of 450 homesites in the Centerra master-planned community in Loveland. Landmark Homes plans to deliver townhomes and condominiums in The Lakes at Centerra neighborhood, further progressing the homebuilder’s residential offerings within Centerra.

The introduction of new product lines will meet the high demand from homebuyers seeking attainable, low-maintenance lifestyles amid the market’s rapidly rising home prices. Landmark Homes plans to break ground in spring 2020 to provide northern Colorado residents with a more diversified and affordable selection of products.

“Landmark has made a notable impact delivering thousands of attached homes in the northern Colorado market. We’ve always been a small hometown builder at heart and feel connected to the fast-evolving needs of the tight-knit community of Centerra,” said Jason Sherrill, CEO of Landmark Homes. “We’re excited to go back to our roots and introduce these product types to this market so we can deliver the highest-quality attached homes at economical pricing, opening the door to homeownership for an underserved segment of homebuyers with limited options in northern Colorado’s quickly growing market. Kicking off our 2020 production roadmap with continued investment at The Lakes at Centerra was an obvious decision, and a project we look forward to nurturing.”

Landmark Homes has built more than 200 residences in Centerra, including townhomes, condominiums and flat-style homes. Building upon its existing footprint in Centerra, Landmark Homes will be the exclusive homebuilder delivering attached homes in the northern section of The Lakes at Centerra. Sitting immediately west of Houts Reservoir, many of the condos and townhomes will feature lake views and all will have access to the nearby community’s extensive trail system.

With this land purchase, Landmark Homes will launch its first collection of Discovery Series homes, the homebuilder’s newest product type, which focuses on delivering low-maintenance homes at its most cost- effective pricing. Of the 160 Discovery Series homes the builder will deliver, 80 sites will debut stacked ranch-style condos and 80 will be two-story condominiums, priced from the high $200s. The Discovery Series condos will feature four floorplans ranging from approximately 1,250 to 1,500 square feet with two to three bedrooms and two to 2.5 baths.

Landmark Homes will also deliver 196 elevator-served condominiums from the $200s to $300s. The Flats collection will feature six floorplan options ranging from approximately 950 to 1,400 square feet, one to three bedrooms and one to two baths. The homebuilder will diversify its offerings with 94 townhomes priced from the mid-$300s to mid-$400s. The Towns collection will feature four floorplans ranging from approximately 2,000 to 2,900 square feet with two to three bedrooms and 2.5 to three baths. The range of options within the homebuilder’s three collections is designed to support northern Colorado’s highly limited inventory of new condos and townhomes at attainable pricing.

“Landmark’s purchase represents and supports attainably priced homes in a premier master-planned community, and we’re proud to foster this opportunity. We feel strongly that the development of attached homes is more important today than ever before given the fast pace of rising home prices in the market and the evolving lifestyle demands of homeowners,” said David Crowder, vice president of community development for McWhinney and general manager of Centerra. “This is also a significant milestone for Centerra, made possible through a long-term relationship with Landmark Homes and its continued dedication to growing our community in northern Colorado. Landmark Homes is a proven leader and respected local builder in this market. The company’s success is a direct result of its commitment to its customers’ needs and providing quality homes, and we are proud to continue working with the team.”

In addition to the immediately adjacent amenities, Landmark Homes’ future homeowners will have direct access to existing amenities within Centerra including its miles of trails, neighborhood Pre-K to 8th grade STEAM school, The Lake Club, High Plains Environmental Center, year-round community events and more. Centerra is also Colorado’s first Certified Community Wildlife Habitat, recognized for its sustainable and wildlife-friendly design.
