Participants will learn basic botanical terms that distinguish plant parts, and how to \u201ckey out\u201d plants, identifying families based on broad commonalities and species based on their distinct characteristics.<\/p>\n Presentation formats will include looking at slides of various native plants, trees, shrubs, wildflowers, and grasses. Participants will review lists of plants, plant parts, flowers and their characteristics and look at plants up close using magnification.<\/p>\n If weather allows we will go outside to examine plants in the HPEC demonstration gardens.<\/p>\n
