High Plains Environmental Center<\/strong>

Located within Centerra, there are acres of wetlands and nature to discover as well as educational activities led by the center’s resident environmentalists. As far as environmental awareness and conservation, it’s one of the most inspiring kids activities in Colorado.<\/p>\n

Benson Sculpture Park<\/strong>
\nThere are lots of nature-related things to do with kids in Colorado, but there are also a number of culturally inspired pastimes as well. Taking a trip to Benson Sculpture Park is a relaxing way to spend an afternoon with the entire family. Kids will have fun exploring the dozens of outdoor artworks in the permanent collection as well as work from featured artists, which change every year.<\/p>\n

Chapungu Sculpture Park<\/strong>
\nAnother unique outdoor art experience in Centerra can be had at the Chapunga Sculpture Park. This park features Zimbabwe Stone Sculpture and is the most significant collection of its kind.<\/p>\n

Boyd Lake State Park<\/strong>
\nIf you have any water babies they’ll have no problem finding ways to entertain themselves all day long at Boyd Lake State Park. Located near Centerra, you can enjoy swimming, fishing, water skiing, canoeing and more. With more than 1,700 acres, even if you plan a full weekend of camping there’s no way to see it all.<\/p>\n

Family-friendly Outdoor Concerts<\/strong>
\nDuring the summer there are plenty of free outdoor concerts that are geared towards adults and kids. A few to look into include the Foote Lagoon Concerts and the Sounds of Centerra Concert Series.<\/p>\n

Children’s Theater at the Rialto Theater<\/strong>
\nAt the Rialto Theater, Tuesday is reserved for kid’s shows. At a time when kids constantly sit in front of screens, a day at the theater is a nice change of pace that gives them a better appreciation of the arts. There is a diverse lineup of shows that range from Irish song and dance to classic pantomime clowning around.<\/p>\n
