This year we came, we cleaned, we conquered, thanks to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/suburbitat.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">High Plains Environmental Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> staff, volunteers and community members like you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The annual Earth Day Lakes Cleanup hosted by the HPEC left our greater community sparkling. Together, HPEC staff and volunteers of all ages made sure no trash was hiding in our community\u2019s beloved parks, trails or shores. Good riddance to bad rubbish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">And good news, green thumbs: HPEC kicked off their annual plant sale. This year, they\u2019re anticipating over 150 species will be available for purchase\u2014all grown right here at the HPEC Native Plant Nursery. At $6 a pop, this is a great way to incorporate locally grown local plants into your home or garden. (Plus, pollinators love them. It\u2019s a win-win!) Place your plant orders <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/high-plains-environmental-center.square.site\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">here<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. And keep checking back because new varieties of prairie and Rocky Mountain native plants will be added as they become available.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Finally, we\u2019re pleased to announce HPEC\u2019s annual <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/suburbitat.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">community garden program<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is ready to take root. This free community garden gives Centerra residents (and Friends of the HPEC) the opportunity to practice their garden-growing skills. There are even community garden potlucks and produce swaps so you can share your experience and harvest. The community garden is so popular that even though there are 90 boxes available, spots always fill up fast!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Miss celebrating Earth Day this year? Not when you live at The Lakes. We\u2019ve got a year-long calendar bursting with outdoor activities, nature walks, High Plains education and more.
