American Authors To Perform At Centerra’s Wild Wonderful Weekend in September

Centerra invites the community to get ready for Wild Wonderful Weekend taking place in late September, featuring the high-energy rock band American Authors. The weekend celebration of Colorado’s first Certified Wild Community – the Centerra master-planned community in Loveland – will kick off Friday, September 24 with an interactive outdoor kid-friendly foam party at the Centerra Marketplace. The fun will continue Saturday, September 25 with morning wild nature walks at Chapungu Sculpture Park and High Plains Environmental Center’s Visitors Campus, followed by a “wild” afternoon of outdoor activations and live music on the Main Plaza at The Promenade Shops at Centerra. A concert pre-party will begin at 5 p.m. when local food trucks roll into the parking lot. Chapungu will open its entrances for ticketed attendees at 6 p.m. and headliner American Authors will take to the stage at 8 p.m. to perform their chart-topping music hits. Tickets are required and registration opens on Thursday, September 2 at 5:00 p.m. through Eventbrite.

Wild Wonderful Weekend

The 2021 Wild Wonderful Weekend schedule includes:

Friday, September 24:
Fierce Foam Party
An outdoor interactive bubble bath, minus the water. A DJ will play the tunes while attendees dance amongst eco-friendly foam dispersed overhead. The 5-7 p.m. slot is slated for younger children and the 7-9 p.m. slot is geared for older children/teens. The Foam Party will take place in the Centerra Marketplace parking lot located at 1450 Fall River Drive on the west side of I-25 and Hwy. 34. Registration to attend the Foam Party is required on Eventbrite and the cost for a ticket is $5 per child with a portion of ticket proceeds to benefit local nonprofit HPEC.

Saturday, September 25:
Wild Nature Walks
High Plains Environmental Center will lead educational botanical garden tours, native wild bird banding, bird walks and kid-friendly nature scavenger hunts throughout the day outside HPEC’s Visitor Center and at Chapungu Sculpture Park. Guided nature walks and tours are complimentary and event information can be found by visiting HPEC’s event page.

Certified Wild Zone
The Main Plaza at The Promenade Shops at Centerra will host live music and free “wild” engagements from 2-5 p.m. featuring face painting, caricature and balloon artists, as well as hands-on learning and educational opportunities from local experts. Registration is not required, and activities will be open to the public.

Concert Pre-Party
Townsquare Media’s pre-show party featuring on-air talent, a live radio remote and giveaways near the Main Plaza at The Promenade Shops at Centerra will start at 5 p.m. Local restaurants and food trucks will provide a variety of dinner options. Registration is not required for the pre-party and is open to the public.

Wild Wonderful Concert
The Great Lawn at Chapungu Sculpture Park will welcome ticket holders into the park starting at 6 p.m. Local entertainer So What Brothers will perform on stage at 7 p.m. followed by the popular rock band American Authors slated to perform shortly after 8 p.m. The concert is a ticketed event and free to patrons registering online. Visit the Eventbrite link to secure tickets which go on sale today at 5 p.m. Capacity is limited and the concert is expected to sell out.

Centerra plans to partner with local retailers and restaurant partners to extend a Wild Wonderful Weekend digital passport offering weekend incentives to community members visiting Centerra during September 24-26.
