CENTERRA’S FOOD TRUCK SUMMER ROUNDUP

Published: July 30, 2020

Ready for a change when it comes to lunch? Ditch that crusty PB&J for a safe, socially-distanced, craft-cooked meal from some of Northern Colorado’s most creative culinary masters at the Centerra Food Truck Roundup.

Under Colorado’s Safer at Home order, limited capacity outdoor events such as this are allowable with appropriate safety measures in place. At Centerra, we feel passionately about the health and safety of our local employees, residents and surrounding community so we are working closely with the Larimer County Health Department to make sure this event is safe for all patrons under the circumstances this year.

To do that, we are asking all attendees to RSVP and/or check-in upon arrival, wear a mask (except when eating or drinking) and maintain at least a six-foot distance from others. There will not be tables and chairs set up, so we encourage people to bring their own blanket or chair or to take their order to go.

With this monthly mashup of mobile munchies, we are sure to have whatever you are in the mood for. Mexican? Check. Wings? You bet. Good old fashioned BBQ and dessert? Oh yes! You work hard during the day, you deserve to take a break!

If your stomach is already growling, then read on to see some of the food trucks featured this year offering a variety of lip-smacking lunch options. Keep in mind, the schedule of participating trucks will change each week so visit the events section on our Facebook page to stay up-to-date.

Fare On Four Wheels

The Centerra Food Truck Roundups take place every other Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., starting July 30 through October weather permitting. Food trucks packed to the gills with all sorts of goodies will soon roll into a new location this year — the parking lot at Factual Data, 5200 Hahns Peak Drive. Just south of the Medical Center of the Rockies campus off of Rocky Mountain Avenue.

Bring your appetite because there’s a great variety of trucks to kick off this year’s roundup season. Local chefs and bakers prepare meals from scratch for lunch. Craft-cooking never tasted better!

BBQ For You

The best way to make it through the work-week is treating yourself to a hearty lunch. How does a nice rack of ribs sound? Nothing goes better with ribs than a side of spicy hot wings. It’s hard to beat BBQ for lunch on a warm sunny day, and at the Centerra Food Truck Roundup, you can enjoy both!

Ever eaten at Sweaty Moose? It’s a local favorite and they keep coming back as one of the regulars to the roundup. Just don’t call them a truck. The Sweaty Moose is considered “moving cuisine catering” with a focus on beef, smoked brisket and even bison meatloaf.

Or, check out Bedrock BBQ. Another regular vendor from Loveland who serves up BBQ ribs, chicken, brisket and pork. Make sure to check out their award-winning Pitmasters BBQ and sauces.

A Northern Colorado staple is Wing Shack, where you can get your fill of hot wings and tasty sides. Opened in 2004 in Garden City, Colo., Wing Shack has expanded to seven locations and the “Wing Wagon.” Ranging from mild to bear hot, there is something for everyone.

Pizza & Noodles

Pizza is always a crowd-pleaser any time of day. And if you think pizza is good normally, wait until you try a wood-fired pizza, hand-crafted in a food truck.

Check out Blazin’ Wood Fired Pizza, which offers authentic, delicious wood-fired pizzas along with vegan and gluten-free options as well.

Dogs & South of the Border

Everyone loves a good hot dog, especially when it’s on a stick or smothered in chili and cheese. Speaking of cheese, perhaps Mexican is more your taste. If so, that’s also an option!

If you like the idea of a more traditional dog-and-bun combo, check out The Salty Dog. New to the Centerra Food Truck Roundup in 2020, this sausage company offers delicious dogs like the Colorado Dog and scrumptious sausages including the Guinness Beer Brat.

You’ve heard of Taco Tuesday, but Taco Thursday with El Sabor Rico is even better. This Mexican food truck offers all the classics including tacos, tortas, burritos, quesadillas and even corn cups!

Sweet Treats

There’s nothing better than a sweet treat after a good lunch and you won’t have to go far for that!

The Cupcake Gypsies is a food truck and bakery that uses organic and local ingredients in all of its baked goods, and they don’t just offer cupcakes. The Loveland company also bakes cake pops, brownies, pies and cookies. In fact, at their new brick-and-mortar shop in downtown Loveland, the Gypsies create birthday and wedding cakes too.

Liquid N2 Ice Cream serves up sweet treats in the form of liquid nitrogen. Sound intriguing? The homemade all-natural ice cream is frozen with liquid nitrogen and has no artificial flavors. Stop by and watch your fresh ice cream get made in front of your eyes in just minutes!

B Sweet Cupcakes is a local bakery offering up affordable gourmet cupcakes. Established in 2010 in historic downtown Loveland, B Sweet Cupcakes offers an array of delicious cupcakes as well as the famed Blue Bell Ice Cream in four flavors.

Centerra Open to All

The Centerra Food Truck Roundups are open to the public and are a great way to get outside for a socially-distanced meal. It’s time to trade in your brown bag for a real meal from one of these tasty trucks at our next event! Each roundup, the offerings will change.

The Centerra Food Truck Roundup is just one of many amenities that Centerra offers to its 150 businesses in the community. For the 8,000 workers from around the region who call Centerra home for a fair part of the day, we want to ensure that they are safe, comfortable and, in this case, well-fed.

Other nice benefits of working, shopping and living in Centerra include the 275 acres of open space and wetlands filled with trails for users to walk or jog through. After hitting up a food truck on your lunch break, consider going for a stroll in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains. Here in Centerra, that’s our reality.

Such locations are ideal for campus headquarters where there is a highly educated workforce right in your backyard. With easy access to Interstate-25 and U.S. 34, Centerra is the hub of Northern Colorado.

From big box to small business retail opportunities, manufacturing and even light industrial, Centerra has it all. Stop by the Centerra Food Truck Roundup to get a taste of – not just the food – but all that we have to offer. We are confident that you will like what you see, and taste!
