Published: March 8, 2007

LOVELAND – March 7, 2007 – In its quest to create great places for people, McWHINNEY announces Grand Station at Centerra, a new one million square foot, 60 acre, LEED certified (National Green Building Council sustainability designation), mixed-use development. It will be located within Centerra, the McWHINNEY master-planned community at I-25 and US-34 in Loveland, just east of The Promenade Shops. A first-of-its-kind in Northern Colorado, Grand Station at Centerra will provide an energizing mix of shopping, dining, entertainment, hospitality, office and medical spaces, fitness, civic, and living opportunities designed to provide an authentic and fabled experience.

With 480,000 square feet of new shopping, dining, and entertainment, 145,000 square feet of Class A office space, 100,000 square feet of medical space, 160 residences, and over 400 hotel rooms complete with premium meeting space, Grand Station at Centerra will offer an experience like no other in Northern Colorado.

Reminiscent of Colorado’s historic train depots, Grand Station at Centerra is based on Northern Colorado’s railway history with an authentic, operating double-decker streetcar taking center stage. Grand Station at Centerra will also feature the “Grand Square,” which will offer a high energy gathering place for Northern Colorado. It will be located at the center of Grand Station at Centerra and will feature grassy areas, stage/pavilion, concierge services, large firepit, valet parking, and interactive water features, all designed to provide a unique Northern Colorado entertainment experience.

“We are thrilled to be presenting Grand Station at Centerra to Northern Colorado. Starting out as a dream, this significant project is a culmination of over a year of benchmarking other mixed-use developments and finding the right mix for Northern Colorado. Grand Station will become the heartbeat of Centerra,” said Chad McWhinney, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder – McWHINNEY.

Grand Station at Centerra will include over 400 hotel rooms including Hotel Valencia, a boutique luxury hotel (180 rooms), and hotels designed for business travelers, a Courtyard by Marriott (110 rooms), and a Hilton Garden Inn (110 rooms). Approximately 20,000 square feet of premium meeting space (with room to expand to 40,000 square feet) is planned at Hotel Valencia.

Club Colorado Fitness energized by Club One, which is currently set to open its initial location at 3755 Precision Drive in Centerra this spring, will expand into Grand Station at Centerra, transforming its identity to a full-service, 60,000 square foot Club One. Club One is a top fitness and wellness provider in the United States. Jeremy Bloom, Olympic athlete and Loveland native, will be Club Colorado Fitness’ spokesman.

The loft-style residences in Grand Station at Centerra are planned as one-, two-, and three-bedroom flats with underground parking and rooftop gardens with shopping, dining, and entertainment just steps away. Sixteen residences will be positioned above Hotel Valencia. Residents of these lofts will receive concierge-style hotel services.

Other amenities at Grand Station at Centerra will include a streetcar station, two streetcar stops, a children’s play area complete with interactive play features, and other special event programming.

In the tradition of Loveland’s culture of art and sculpture, Grand Station at Centerra will also incorporate several pieces of public art throughout the development, including many bronze sculptures.
