Eat wild. Dance wild.
See the wild. Be the wild.

As is now the annual tradition here in Centerra, we’re taking a long weekend to commemorate a quarter century of Mother-Nature-approved community building. Thanks to the efforts of our High Plains Environmental Center, Centerra is the
first place in Colorado to be certified by the National Wildlife Federation as a Community Wildlife Habitat. And we think that deserves a celebration.

We’re talking 3 days. 3 big events (see below). With a whole bunch of fun, tasty, nature-inspired stuff in between. Don’t miss it.

At Chapungu Sculpture Park

Welcome to the wildlife portion of Wild Wonderful Weekend. Stroll from booth to booth and enjoy fascinating presentations by groups such as the Butterfly Pavilion, Fort Collins Audubon Society, People and Pollinators Action Network, Rocky Mountain Raptor Center, Loveland Youth Gardeners and our special guest, The Colorado Bird Lady. We’ll have live music, inflatable axe-throwing and the Jungle Dash fun run. Along with guided nature tours of the High Plains Environmental Center and Chapungu Sculpture Park and a scavenger hunt in Chapungu and The Promenade Shops. Like the native wildlife of Colorado, admission is free.

At the Kinston Hub

Fall festivities under the stars. An outdoor dance floor and live music from the Eric Golden Band. A little country-flavored fun with horse-drawn hay rides and a mechanical bull. Stargazing and a s’mores station. Delicious dinner treats available for purchase from a favorite local food truck and drink specials and food from The Hub Café. Enter the drawing for a chance at some truly exciting prizes, such as a night’s stay at the Four Seasons Vail Resort. (Proceeds will benefit the High Plains Environmental Center.)

At High Plains Environmental Center

Imagine a big community table surrounded by the trees and gardens of the High Plains Environmental Center. With Houts Reservoir as the backdrop and an acoustic guitar and native birds providing the soundtrack. Choose your favorite flavor at the mimosa bar. Then settle in for a grand brunch and some good conversation. This is a ticketed event with limited seating. So don’t wait to make your reservations.
