3 days to celebrate all kinds of wild
It’s that time of year again. Summer is waning. Fall is falling. And Centerra is wilding. Come out for live music, tasty treats, native plants, amazing art and all sorts of nature-inspired fun. It’s our annual Wild Wonderful Weekend. Don’t miss it.

Harvest jamboree
Friday, September 11 | 5 PM
At The Hub at Kinston
Live music, tasty food, and a great cause. What better way to start the weekend? Enjoy the upbeat sounds of Wirewood Station, grab a bite from the Hub Café at Kinston, and soak in a fun, community-focused evening surrounded by friends and neighbors.
The evening also offers a chance to learn more about the High Plains Environmental Center (HPEC) and the role they’ve played in shaping and stewarding the natural landscape of Centerra. Hear about their work, explore ways to get involved and support their mission through a charity raffle and silent auction. It’s an opportunity to give back while having a little fun.
Into the wild
Saturday, September 12 | 10 AM – 9 PM
At Chapungu Sculpture Park
Saturday is the wildest day of Wild Wonderful Weekend! Live bands will play back-to-back from 10am to 9pm, creating the soundtrack for a full day of fun. Explore creations from more than 25 nature-inspired artists, get up close with wildlife experts and live animals, discover native plants at the High Plains Environmental Center’s Native Plant Sale, and tackle the giant ropes course. Add in delicious food from local favorites, hands-on nature experiences, and plenty of wild surprises, and you’ve got a Saturday you won’t want to miss. It’s Into the Wild and it’s going to be a Saturday to remember!
All Weekend long
September 11 – 13
Throughout Centerra
Round out the weekend with a relaxed, come-as-you-are celebration of place. All weekend long, explore self-guided tours, scenic trails, and hidden gems across the community, from Chapungu Sculpture Park to Old Canal Park and beyond. Discover art in unexpected places, pause in native landscapes, and follow moments of whimsy wherever they lead. Enjoy a community-wide shopping passport featuring the Promenade Shops, Marketplace, The Loveland Yards, and nearby Loveland favorites joining the celebration. Less schedule, more serendipity. The weekend invites you to explore, linger, and enjoy every corner of Centerra.

Sept 12 is Community Wildlife Habitat Day!
In September 2018, Centerra made history as Colorado’s first-ever Certified Wildlife Habitat Community, a prestigious designation from the National Wildlife Federation. Ever since, Centerra and the High Plains Environmental Center have celebrated the anniversary of this accomplishment with Wild Wonderful Weekend. In 2026, the City of Loveland designated a special local holiday to commemorate the achievement.
The certification was earned thanks to the vision and dedication of the High Plains Environmental Center, which has, for 25 years, prioritized native plants, pollinators, wildlife habitat, and water conservation. Help us celebrate by learning more about HPEC, its mission to create thriving spaces for people and wildlife, and the many ways you can get involved in supporting its work.
More Wildlife. More Wonder.
You can celebrate Community Wildlife Habitat Day on Saturday, September 12, at Centerra’s one-of-a-kind wildlife adventure alongside 20+ experts at Into the Wild and experience more animals, more nature and more wild wonder than ever.
