A crowd of locals and strangers alike, gather to listen to the sweet music found at the Sounds of Centerra concert

The Sounds of Centerra concert series returns to Chapungu Sculpture Park on Friday, July 9 for its 13th season. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and find a comfortable spot on the Great Lawn to enjoy this year’s line-up from local and regional musicians. The performances will vary from traditional melodies to classic rock to contemporary bands, offering something for everyone.

“Following a year of hibernation, we are thrilled for the return of our summer concert series and look forward to reengaging with our concert followers again,” stated Celeste Smith, senior marketing director at McWhinney. “Chapungu Sculpture Park is a beautiful outdoor entertainment venue where community members can safely gather and enjoy a wonderful evening listening to favorite upbeat Colorado musicians.”

The concerts will be held on the Chapungu Great Lawn from 7 to 9 p.m. every Friday in July and are free to the public. The 2021 Sounds of Centerra lineup includes:

  • Friday, July 9: 6 Million Dollar Band (80s cover): 6 Million Dollar Band is the ultimate 80s experience. Colorado’s premier party band, offering high energy 80s dance hits with concert-level show production, guaranteed to keep the dance floor moving all night long.
  •  Friday, July 16: Royal Street Ramblers (Jazz): The Royal Street Ramblers are a dynamic group of talented musicians and entertainers playing everything from traditional dixie-land jazz and blues to brass bank funk and gypsy tunes. Ramblers do it all!
  • Friday, July 16: The Wendy Woo Band (Pop/Blues): The Wendy Woo Band is a polyethnic, power pop, song-rock, six-piece band with sweet vocal harmonies and shuddering grooves. Wendy’s energetic personality, musical skills, and spirited songwriting takeover the stage. She has penned and recorded more than 200 original songs and entertains over 150 dates each year.
  • Friday, July 30: Soul School (Funk, R&B, Soul): Soul School will have you up and dancing with their energetic stage entertainment experience while offering a vast repertoire of music which includes Golden Oldies, Beach, Motown, Country, Jazz, Rock, Funk, Rhythm and Blues, and Contemporary.

This year’s concert series will feature Chick-fil-A Loveland who will deliver pre-ordered custom meals through their online app, as well as selling chicken dinner meals, cookies and beverages onsite on the Great Lawn (cash only).
